Lilly's Blessing

Lilly was blessed on April 26th, 2009. Trevor blessed her and gave her a beautiful blessing. We had a lot of family and friends who attended. Thank you for the support! We really appreciate it! Like Mother, Like Daughter!

If you happen to be one of my former college roommates, you will appreciate these pictures!! After I take a shower, I love to put my bathrobe on and just chill in it for a while! My roommates in college quickly became used to this!! The other day I was in my robe and Trevor told me to put Lilly's on so we could take pictures of us matching!! Isn't she cute?!



One of our neighbors brought over a present the other day. Tied on top was this little plastic phone. I had Lilly hold it. She was a natural! She put it right up to her ear, but I couldn't get the picture fast enough!! Oh well, these are still cute!!

P.S. As for the blessing pictures, my sister has them on her camera. As soon as I get them from her, I will post them! Until then, these will have to do!!

Happy Easter!

Here is our precious little Easter Lilly! The Easter Bunny (my mom) left a basket with a cute little First Easter outfit that had little bunny feet and a little cotton tail. It also had a bunny that said First Easter on it, and the cute little dress at the bottom. She was the cutest little thing in her outfits and we had fun showing her off!! We can't get enough of our sweet angel!

Pretty Princess!!!

Lilly came out with super long fingernails! They were so perfect and pretty that I couldn't resist painting them!! Sorry about the quality of the pictures! I wish I had a nice camera, or photoshop! Trevor's Grandma Noble gave Lilly this cute little pearl ring! Thanks Grandma Noble, we LOVE it!!

Daddy's Girl!

Last week Trevor had the whole week off. It was so nice to have him here the first week as we were getting adjusted to having our sweet baby girl home with us. This Monday he had to go back to work. It has been different having him gone. It was so nice to have him here helping and taking care of me and Lilly. My mom and sister have come up this week to help, but it's different than having Daddy home! So this is a tribute to my sweet husband and Lilly's daddy. Thanks for all you did and continue to do for us! We love you!

The Arrival of Lilly Belle Foust

On Thursday, March 19th (my mom's birthday) I started having contractions. I started timing them at 7:00 p.m. At 8:00 they were 5 minutes apart. I told Trevor that tonight was the night and we were going to the hospital. He did not believe me and went about playing his computer game. As I was having those wonderful contractions, I made sure I had everything I needed for the hospital. Around 10:15 I said, ok let's go they are now 3-4 minutes apart. Trevor still was skeptical, but decided we would go. He used to work at a hospital and saw how many women were sent back home because they weren't ready yet, and he thought this was going to happen. We got to the hospital around 11:00 p.m. They checked me in and had me change into a gown, lay down on the bed, and started to monitor me. I was there for a little while, then paged the nurse to see if I could go to the bathroom, they said the nurse would be right in. Lilly had the hiccups, and about 30 seconds after I paged, my water broke!! I paged them back and said my water broke! The nurse came in A LOT quicker!! She had me go in the bathroom and get cleaned up while she changed the bedding. At this point, I experienced the worst pain in my life! I had a contraction that went all through my spine, up to my head, down through my toes. I yelled for Trevor to come in and I just held his hand, then another one came. I told them I needed an epidural as soon as I could get one!! At this point I had dilated to a 5. Before they could give me an epidural, they needed to start an IV in my arm. The nurse tried 3 times unsuccessfully, then the anesthesiologist took 2 tries to get it in! Let's just say I look like a druggie! I got the epidural, which wasn't too bad. All I felt was A LOT of pressure. Once that baby kicked in, I was in heaven!! It then took 4 hours for me to dilate to a 6. The nurse said they were going to give me pitocin to speed things up. Well, there was a crisis going on next to me and they were busy taking care of that lady. They had 20-30 people taking care of her. So I was just taking it easy hanging out with Trevor. When they were able to get that situation taken care of, they came in and started me on pitocin. Once that worked and got me to a 10, I pushed for 2 hours and then the most beautiful baby entered this world! Trevor helped the whole time. It was just Trevor and the nurse in the room until the very end when the doctor came in. Trevor held one of my legs and counted to 10 every time I pushed. He was so great and did an awesome job! The doctor put Lilly on my belly and I touched her for a second while Trevor cut the cord, then they rushed her off to take some tests and get her to start crying. She was under a lot of stress during the labor. Her heart rate kept dropping and picking back up, so they wanted to do several tests to make sure she was ok. While they did this, Trevor was able to be with her and see her weighed, measured, etc. I had to stay on the bed and get stitched up!! LAME!! Anyway, everything was fine with Lilly and with me. Here are some pictures of the beautiful little angel. Enjoy. I love being a mom! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! She is definitely worth every bit of heartburn, every contraction, every stretch mark, etc. I love you Lilly Belle!!!

Update...

So I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for Friday the 13th at 4:10 p.m. I was excited to meet with the doctor, find out where I was, at least schedule an induction date, etc. So I walk into the office and the office manager was looking at me kind of funny. Here is the conversation:

Me: "Oh sorry I'm a little late."

O.M.: "Oh, did you have an appointment because we're not seeing patients today."

Me: "Yes at 4:10"

O.M.: "Well he's not in, when is your due date?"

Me: "Tomorrow"

O.M.: "Oh, so you need to see him! Let me see what I can do." (She left to talk to another doctor)

While she was gone I went digging through my purse to find the reminder card. Sure enough it said 3/13/09 4:10 p.m. The stupid receptionist scheduled me on a day the doctor wasn't even in AT ALL!!! She came back and I showed her the card to prove that I'm not crazy. She apologized up and down for the misunderstanding. She said none of the other doctors could see me because they are family practitioners and could not do the exam. She told me the doctor would be back in the office on Tuesday and scheduled me an appointment.

Needless to say, I was very frustrated. I didn't even know my doctor would be out of town. I would have been EXTREMELY upset if I went into labor and went to the hospital only to find out my doctor would not be there!!!! Oh well!

So we have been trying natural labor inducing techniques this weekend. We went on a nice big walk today and I think the only thing it did was give me sore legs!!!

I will update everyone on Tuesday after my doctor's appointment. The doctor said he would induce me after a week, but I am not sure exactly what day that will be! Wish me luck...

More Love...

So I had 3 more showers!! 

4) My ward shower. I do not know a whole lot of people in my ward, so I was a little surprised that they had a shower for me! It was really nice. About 30 people came!! People came that I did not even know! This ward is great and so supportive! I mostly received clothes and a few books, blankets, and toys. 

5) My work shower. My team at work had a shower for me when we went back on track. It was a lot of fun! Almost everyone in the whole school came!! I, of course, was spoiled and received several wonderful presents!! Thanks team, especially Jaclyn, for putting this together!

6) Foust Family shower. Trevor's mom had a shower for us. They do them with the whole family, so there were quite a few people there. It was also fun! We had yummy food and visited with each other. We got more clothes, a diaper bag, toys, books, blankets (My MIL made us 3 receiving blankets and a big fluffy blanket, Shanna (SIL) made a cute Winnie the Pooh blanket, Kimberly (SIL) made a cute pink monkey fleece blanket, and Trevor's Aunt made a beautiful peach quilt).

I am so grateful to everyone for showing us their love and support! We have so many things for our little girl! Now we just need the baby!! I am down to 5 days! I will let you all know when Miss Lilly decides to make her grand appearance!! We are anxiously awaiting her arrival!

Showered With LOVE (no, this is not a Valentine's post!)

Ok, I know this post is a little overdue. I was waiting to get pictures from my sis, but still haven't gotten them so I decided to post anyway! Over the last 2 weeks I have had 3 showers and thought I would post about them and tell about my AWESOME family and friends!

1) January 31st: My side of the family shower. Hosted by my dear Aunt Sherri, Cousins Carla and Emmie Sue, Aunt Mary Sue, Mom, and Sister Andrea. The decorations were SO cute! Everything was pink, brown, and green to match my (or Lilly's) crib set! We had a lot of yummy food. Ribbon sandwiches made by my mom using pink bread!, salads, veggies, and yummy sugar cookies! So many of my sweet relatives came and we had A LOT of FUN! We mingled, ate, played games, and opened presents! We were given so many wonderful presents! This girl is going to be the best dressed baby in town! Almost all of the clothes are pink and brown!! Good thing I like pink and brown!:) My Aunt Debbie who lives in California crocheted Lilly the most BEAUTIFUL purple dress. We couldn't get over how FABULOUS it is! The picture doesn't even do it justice!! Thanks to everyone who came and for all of their generosity! I have the BEST family! Here are a few pictures I took at home. I had to get a picture of all of these presents.


2) February 7th: A friend shower hosted by my sister Andrea and sister-in-laws Shanna and Kimberly. The three of them were so nice to give me a shower. Again, this was A LOT of FUN! Shanna and Kimberly made me a diaper cake and a cupcake cake that looks like a rattle! They were both so cute! The only problem is that I don't want to take the diaper cake apart because it's so cute, so it's sitting on my kitchen table as my centerpiece! We had chicken salad sandwiches, veggies, chips, and cupcakes! We played more fun games and opened up more WONDERFUL presents! My sister is a little excited and gave us three bags of clothes!! They are so cute! It was good to visit with friends and family (my niece and cousin also came)! I didn't get a picture of all my presents but here are pictures of the cakes and decorations I stole from Shanna's blog!


3) February 10th: My Parents' Ward shower. Hosted by dear friends Jen James and Jan Riley. This was an open house, so a little different than the first two. Lots of people came and brought wonderful presents for us! A lot of people went in on a group gift and gave us a bunch of books (LOVE IT) and a gift card to get a play yard! We of course had yummy food, too!!! A pregnant girl can't get enough food!! Sorry, no pictures from this shower, but it was still fun!

I am so grateful for everyone and their generosity to us as we start out our little family!! We are loved by so many GREAT people! As my mother-in-law says, "Lilly is well LOVED!!" I like that instead of SPOILED!! I already have a whole closet full of clothes, toys, baby gear, etc, etc, etc!!

We are getting more and more excited about the arrival of the little princess!! Her room is painted, just needs some decorations, so I will post pics once it is more complete! I went to the dr.'s on Friday and he said everything is looking good. I had the "invasive" exam and he said I am not dilated, but am starting to thin! I will now visit him every week!!! I am starting to get a little nervous. I read the section in What to Expect When You're Expecting about Labor and Delivery and I was exhausted just from reading it!

Anyway, sorry about the looooong post, which I am not usually a fan of, but oh well!!

MagicJack

For lack of anything else to talk about, I am going to tell you about the new product we purchased. It's called MagicJack. It's a phone service that costs $40 a year or 5 years for $60! It works through your internet. It includes free long distance, caller id, call waiting, voice mail, and probably other stuff I can't think of right now! We have only had cell phones for the last few years, and since we have about 2 minutes to use a month, I figured we needed something more. It's been great so far! I would definitely recommend it! If you have any questions, let me know. If you are interested in it, just go to www.magicjack.com. My uncle in California introduced me to it. He and all of his buddies use it and have for months and really like it as well. Let me know if anyone else has tried it or does try it.

Finally

I finally sent all the invites to make this thing private!! I should be finishing up my 3-d ultra sound this week, so hopefully I can post pictures this weekend! Things are going well! I am almost 30 weeks!!! I can't believe it! We got a stroller for Christmas from Trevor's parents, and we got a glider from my parents. They also gave us a crib as a baby gift. We put everything together on Friday and Saturday! It's so exciting! I am so grateful that our parents gave us these wonderful presents! I will hopefully be painting Lilly's room sometime this month. Things are coming together, it's crazy, but I am very excited!

I went to the dr.'s today and he said things are looking great! I had to get my blood drawn, again, and then have the RH shot due to my blood type. I am O-, which can attack the baby, so you have to get a special shot to prevent it. The shot was in my hip. I heard these shots kill, but it felt like any other shot. I don't think the girl who drew my blood knew what she was doing, though! It hurts so bad and it bruised immediately! I used to give blood all the time and this never happened!! What an idiot!! No big deal, this pain is nothing!!!!!

The long awaited belly shot! Yuck! After several requests for this picture, I finally gave in! As you have probably noticed, I do not like taking pictures of myself and definitely not posting them! I have finally given in and here is the shot at 27 weeks. Enjoy.

Christmas Photo Shoot

So I happen to have a connection with the real Santa, and he was kind enough to let us take a few pictures with him for our Christmas card. Considering it was Sunday night at 10:00 and there were 3 people and 2 dogs involved, they turned out pretty well! We would get the dogs positioned, then one would lay down right before the picture, then the other would, and so on! If you've ever taken pictures with animals before I am sure you understand!! Anyway, here are some of the pictures.

P.S. I did fall off the face of the earth for a while, but am back now! Things are going well, life gets so crazy busy during the holidays! Lilly is growing like a weed! She is moving around quite a bit and her daddy has even felt her move! Hope all is well with everyone else! Happy Holidays!
